A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday August 3, 2015 in the Church of Saint Patrick, Watertown, for Barbara Ann (Woodlock) Gildea,  at 9 am.

 

Mrs. Gildea was the daughter of the late Howard P. & Christine (Deagle) Woodlock.  She passed away in the Sancta Maria Nursing Facility, Cambridge on Saturday, July 30, 2016 after a long period of declining health.  She was 88.

 

Born in Roslindale, MA, she grew up in Newton Highlands, graduating from newton High School.  For twenty years she lived in Michigan before moving back to Watertown in 1967.  Barbara received her LPN from Boston School of Nursing.  She worked at the Greenery Nursing Home in Brighton and retired from the Marquardt Nursing Center, Fernald School, Waltham, MA in 2003.

 

Barbara was honorably discharged from the United States Navy in March of 1951.  She was a member of American Legion Post 440, Nonantum.  She taught bowling at Wal-lex, Riverside and Woburn Bowledromes for 30 years.  She also worked for Avon Cosmetics and made it to the Presidents Club.

 

 

She was the devoted mother of Christine A. Hurley & her husband Scott of Evans, CO, Dale R. “Mickey” Gildea of AZ and Sheryl A. Bonney of Webster.  Loving grandmother of  Melissa Monti & her husband Louis, Rachel Bonney & Luke Bonney all of Webster, Elizabeth & Ashton Gildea of AZ and Todd Crandall of NY.  Great grandmother of Leah, Kaitlyn and Nicholas Monti, Boston Crandall & Brittany Kuhl.  Dear sister of the late Howard P., Charles E., J. William, F. Allan Woodlock, Marquerite C. Keough, Vivian Bell and Marion C. Trainor. 

 

Funeral from the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home at 270 Main St. Watertown on Wednesday Aug. 3, 2016 at 8:00 AM, followed by Funeral Mass in the Church of St. Patrick, 212 Main St., Watertown at 9:00 AM. Relatives and friends kindly invited.

 

 Visiting hours Tuesday from 4-7 PM.

 

Interment Calvary Cemetery.
