A Memorial Funeral Mass for David W. Clasby will be celebrated in the Church of Sacred Heart, Waltham at 10:00 am on Wednesday, January 24, 2018.
Mr. Clasby passed away in the Sancta Maria Nursing Facility in Cambridge after an illness on Tuesday January 16th, 2018. He was 85.
David was born and raised in Waltham. At the age of 19, David enlisted in the United States Air Force and was stationed in Fairbanks Alaska. He received the rank of Airman First Class during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged from the Air Force in 1956. David was a member of the American Legion Post 156 in Waltham.
After his discharge from the Air Force, David graduated from the Leland Powers School of Radio, Television and Theater in Boston. He moved to Hollywood California to pursuing his love of acting. He performed in plays, television commercials and was the program manager for KGLA radio station. He later moved back home to Massachusetts where he worked for 25 years as a respiratory therapist at Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge until his retirement. After his retirement, David continued his love of theater performing in two plays with the Hovey Player in Waltham.
He was the loving Son of the late Chester F. & Stella M. (Hickey) Clasby. Dear Brother of Chester F. Clasby, Jr. & his wife Helen of Southborough and the late Alice Demboske & her husband Stanley of Sudbury. Also survived by many nieces & nephews.
A Funeral Mass in the Church of Sacred Heart, 311 River St., Waltham will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 24th at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends kindly invited.
