Dorothy L. (Lang) Bellis

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, April 23, 2016 in the Church of Saint Patrick, Watertown at 9 am for Dorothy L. (Lang) Bellis.

Mrs. Bellis a daughter of the late Arthur and Helen (Murphy) Lang, passed away in Richlands, NC on Saturday evening after a period of declining health, she was 83.

Born in Allston, MA in 1932, Dorothy graduated from Cathedral High School in 1949. She married Harold Bellis, Jr. In 1958. They resided in Watertown where she was a longtime member of St. Patrick Parish and always a devoted churchgoer.

In addition to spending time with her family, Dorothy loved knitting, crocheting and needlepoint. She would never pass up a game of cards or cribbage.  Dorothy cherished the laughter and silliness which life can hold. 

Dorothy joins her husband Harold J. Bellis, Jr. whom she missed dearly.  Loving and devoted mother of Susan Bellis, Sheila DeLeo, Mark Bellis, William Bellis and Julie Lindstedt; and her beloved son and daughters-in-law, John, Andrea and Michelle.  She leaves her cherished grandchildren, Mark, Melissa, William, Christine, Maureen, Kyle, Liam and Erin.  Daughter of the late Arthur and Helen (Murphy) Lang, and sister of the late Helen McNamara, Arthur Lang, Jr. and Rosemary Hannon, and her living siblings, Catherine Bouchie and Walter Lang and his wife Judy as well as many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hour in the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home at 270 Main St. Watertown on Saturday April 23, 2016 ay 8 AM, followed by Funeral Mass in the Church of St. Patrick, 212 Main St., Watertown at 9:00 AM. Relatives and friends kindly invited.

Interment St. Patrick Cemetery.

Dorothy was a woman of strong faith, believing in the grace of God’s love and the beauty and peace that would await her.  May she rest in peace.
