Martyn J. Rees

Martin J. Rees (1961-2017) of Watertown MA, formerly from Wales, UK.

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our dear friend and loved one, Martyn Rees. Martyn passed away on August 30, 2017, at the age of 56. Martyn was born in Blackwood, Wales and moved to America in 1999 at the age of 38. He is a graduate of Crosskeys College of Caerphilly, Wales, and De Montfort University of Leicester, England and is a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA). For the twenty-five years, Martyn worked in banking and lending services in Boston. Martyn was truly one of a kind, and his smile, sense of humor, and positive outlook on life was contagious. He lived life to the fullest, filled with passion for traveling, music, sports, and making new friends everywhere he went.

 
Martyn was the only child of the late Stanley J. and Mabel Rees (nee Price) from Wales, UK. He is cherished and held fondly in affection by his close friends Michele (Cavallaro) & David Donnelly of Waltham, Alexandra Toli of Watertown, Cynthia Melanson of Canton, his work family and friends from Wolf & Company P.C. of Boston, his beloved Welsh cousins Cynthia Evans, Lorraine Willis, Michelle Walters and Christine Cole, as well as the many legions of friends he made all over the world.  

 
Martyn’s family will be holding a private memorial ceremony in Wales. Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, an organization dedicated to fighting heart disease and stroke, at PO Box 417005 in Boston, MA 02241.
