A Funeral Mass for Mary G. (Evans) Quirk, 103, will be celebrated on Thursday, December 24, 2009, in the Church of Saint Patrick, Watertown.
Mrs. Quirk, a daughter of William and Ann (Connolly) Evans, was born in Windsor, Vt. She grew up in Newton and graduated from Our Lady Help of Christians High School in Newton with the class of 1923. Mrs. Quirk, who devoted her whole life to her family, also enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and Nantucket Island. A resident of Watertown for the past 70 years, Mrs. Quirk died at home on Sunday, December 20, 2009.
The beloved wife of the late John F. Quirk who died in December of 1970, she was the devoted mother of Ann Quirk and Jane E. Quirk of Watertown, Catherine M. Keane and her husband Leo Keane of Williamsburg, VA., Ellen Barnes and her husband Joseph P. Barnes of Needham and William F. Quirk and his wife Mary D. Quirk of Needham; dear sister of William A. Evans of Northborough and the late Catherine Ford and David Evans; loving grandmother of Elizabeth Shea, Christopher Keane, Jonathan Barnes, David Barnes, Kathleen Quirk, Molly Quirk and William F. Quirk, Jr.; and loving great-grandmother of Jack Shea, Michael Shea, Lucy Keane, Anna Keane, Charlotte Barnes and Elizabeth Barnes.
The Funeral will be from the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home at 270 Main St., on Rte. 20, Watertown, on Thurs. at 8 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 o'clock in the Church of Saint Patrick, 212 Main St., Watertown. Interment will be private.
Calling hours will be on Wednesday, December 23rd , from 4-7 PM in the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home on Main Street. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
