Claire Louise Forbes, age 80, of Milford, Massachusetts, formerly of Watertown, passed peacefully on February 23, 2024 surrounded by loving family. Born on April 8, 1943, in Medford, MA. Claire was predeceased in 2012 by her beloved and loving husband of 50 years, Edmund.
Loving mother to John (wife Peg) of Franklin, and Michael (wife Emily) of Watertown. Nana to three adoring grandchildren Quinn and wife Samantha of Lakeville, Delaney and Evan both of Franklin.
Claire was the eldest of 10 siblings – Pat Mulvey, Kathy Hackett, Lyne Mullen, Anne Augustini (David), Maureen Torpey (Bob), Joan Landecker, Bob Richards (Bridget Morris), and Zelda Richards. Predeceased by brother Paul Richards.
A decades long resident of the famed Fitchburg Street in Watertown, where Ed was “The Mayor” and she “Mrs. Mayor.” Claire enjoyed many fun times there with friends and neighbors. She dedicated nearly 30 years of her life working as an administrative assistant in Newton and Sudbury for the Federal Division of National Fish and Wildlife.
In her free time, Claire enjoyed shopping, crafting, and creating cherished memories while taking vacations in various sunny destinations with her sisters and friends. Her warm, compassionate nature and fabulous sense of humor endeared her to everyone she met. Claire will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
A private burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer’s Association in Claire’s honor would be gratefully appreciated.
