Linda Walters Obituary

Linda Walters was born in Boston to the late Robert “Bob” and Roberta “Bobbie” Walters. Linda passed away peacefully on February 5th with family at her side. She was 65.

From her early childhood, Linda was a fighter. Despite a brain tumor diagnosis at the age of 4 that left her legally blind, she navigated through life independently with positivity and kindness. Linda grew up in Belmont and went on to graduate from the prestigious Perkins School for the Blind, where she made lifelong friendships and proved that her handicap could not stop her. She brought love and laughter to her dad, mom, sisters, aunt, and loving cousins. She watched over her nieces and taught them how to bake. She cared for her grandson. She was the proud owner of her sweet rescue dog, Albie.

Linda did not let her circumstances get in the way of the impact she made on others. Her laugh was contagious, she had the sweetest smile, and the smallest gestures brought her happiness. She loved to play Bingo, craft, bake, solve Word Find puzzles, hang outside with coffee, and spend time with her family. She could certainly be the life of the party. The cards that Linda was dealt in life were not fair. Unfortunately, Linda’s childhood cancer diagnosis was the first of many health battles she would face over the course of her life. After beating cancer 7 times in 60 years, she lost her last fight. Linda was and will always be remembered as a warrior and now, she is finally at peace.

She was the beloved daughter of Robert and Roberta Walters. Loving sister of Donna D’Amico and her husband Peter and Debbie Fay and her husband Neal. Devoted niece to Kathy Walters, and cousin to Kathy Pollert, Diane Harrington, and Lisa Nadolny. Adoring aunt to Kristin and Peter D’Amico and Jessica and Haley Fay. Caring mother to Scott Walters and doting grandmother to Nick Laino. Bright light, kind neighbor, and friend to many.

Friends and family are invited to attend a graveside service for Linda on Friday, January 16th at 11:30 AM in St Patrick’s Cemetery, 999 Belmont St., Watertown, where she will be laid to rest in the peace she deserves.
