Mary (Grillo) Martin

Mrs. Mary (Grillo) Martin, September 3, 1924 - February 24, 2024.  

Martin, Mary (Grillo) of Watertown, passed peacefully on February 24, 2024 with family.   Mary was in her 100th year and lived her years with intelligence, kindness, grace, style, humor, and a deep love of family.    She was the beloved daughter of Santo Grillo and Josephine Ciappina, and sister of Connie Stumpf, Lena Lane and Joseph Grillo.   The true love of her life was Donald Martin and she was fortunate to have his children Judy Martin and Kathy McDonough as part of their family.   In addition, she had nieces and a nephew and countless additional family members and friends, all of whom enjoyed the joy she gave with her kindheartedness.  She was very proud to have worked at MIT and was a woman ahead of her time in this regard.   She loved to bike, was an avid walker and golfer and played her last round with her brother Joe in Boston in the spring of 2023.  

Mary’s life will be celebrated on Thursday May 9th, 2024 at 10:00am at St. Patrick’s Church in Watertown, followed by a service at St. Patrick’s Cemetery and a luncheon.
