Robert Quirk Obituary

A visitation for Robert Patrick “Bobby” Quirk of Blackstone, formerly of Hudson and Watertown, will be held on Sunday April 7, 2024 from 12 Noon to 2 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2 PM in the MacDonald Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home.

Bobby was born in Waltham to the late Francis P. & Dorothy A. (Forbes) Quirk on November 14, 1955. He passed away on Monday April 1, 2024.  He was 68.

Bobby was born at the Murphy Army Hospital in Waltham, which is now the Federal Archives and the North Campus of Bentley University where he was employed for 32 years, retiring in 2019. He always got a kick out of that. In the years in between, he was a Boy Scout then spent his teenage years hanging around the Corner at Muggy’s and Underwood’s with his friends who remained a constant presence in his life.

After graduating from Watertown High School in 1974, he joined the Marine Corps in 1975 and was stationed at Camp Pendelton, California where he met his future wife, Beverly. Their forty-five year relationship was founded on friendship, respect and much love. They eventually settled back in Watertown where they built a life with their daughters Rachael and Mandy, who were his pride and joy. Later they would move to Hudson where they lived for 29 years.

Bobby was the most devoted father and a family man to his very core. This was most evident when you saw him with his six grandchildren. From the moment Francesca came from heaven into his arms he was in full-on Papa mode for the rest of his days. Frankie, Brady, Jackson, Lily, Leah and Rebecca were his glory! He enjoyed every single moment he spent with them and made mighty efforts to guide them, teach them (golf and finance), and entertain them. His best advice on raising kids, “Hugs and kisses everyday”.

He maintained friendships from childhood, school days, the Marines, Bentley and anywhere else he happened to have been. Bobby was well loved and respected as a stand-up guy by everyone who knew him. He loved seeing his cousins, nieces, nephews and friends at the annual “Pumpkin Party” at his home in Hudson. He loved to golf with “the guys” and travel with his “Bride Beverly” in his retirement. There are so many people who have wonderful memories of Bobby to carry with them. A special mention and thank you to Jeff Sullivan for always being there.

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents Francis Patrick “Frank” Quirk, Dorothy Anne “Dottie” (Forbes) Quirk and two newborn grandsons, Robert Quirk Feola and Francis Patrick Feola.

He was the beloved husband of Beverly Jean (Scott) Quirk. Loving father of Rachael S. Cullen & her husband James of Houlton, Maine, and Mandy Jo Feola & her husband Frank of Blackstone. Dear brother of Mary Margaret White of AZ, Denise Wing (Billy) of Dudley, Joseph Quirk (Susanne) of FL, Maureen Craig of Watertown, and Mary Kirkland (Frank) of Salem NH. Loving Papa of Francesca, Brady, & Lily Feola and Jackson, Leah, & Rebecca Cullen.

Visiting hours will be held in the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home, 270 Main St., Watertown on Sunday April 7, from 12 Noon to 2 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2 PM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Bobby’s ashes will be interred in a military service at the Bourne National Cemetery at a later date to be determined.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Bobby’s memory may be made to The Keefe Fund, 23 Charter St. #5 Newburyport, MA 01950.
