Agnes H. (Melia) Thurber

Agnes H. (Melia) Thurber, 86, of Watertown passed away on February 26, 2019 after a lengthy period of declining heath. Born in Boston, MA, January 12, 1933, she was a daughter of the late James P. and Agnes H. (Doherty) Melia. She was raised in Arlington and has lived in Watertown since 1990.

A graduate of the Mount Auburn Hospital School of Nursing, Cambridge, MA, class of 1953 and a retired RN.

She is the beloved wife of the late Richard L. Thurber, devoted mother of Stephen P. Thurber and his wife Cathy of Worcester and James L. Thurber of Waltham.  Loving grandmother of Caitlyn and Hailey Thurber.  Dear sister of Kathleen Collins of Woburn, Rita Barter of Arlington and the late Madge Hession.

Relatives and friend are cordially invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at the Church of Saint Patrick, 212 Main Street, Watertown, MA 02472 on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at 9 AM. Interment to follow on Friday (next day) March 8, 2019 at 1:15 PM in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, MA.  Visiting hours in the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home, 270 Main St., Watertown, MA 02472 on Wednesday, March 6th, from 4 – 7 PM.
