Arthur W. Venezia

A Funeral Mass for Arthur William Venezia will be celebrated on Thursday January 3rd, 2019 in St. Luke’s Church, Belmont at 10:30 am.

Mr. Venezia, a son of the late Gennaro and Eleanora (Belsole) Venezia passed away in his home on Saturday morning,  December 29, 2018. Arthur was 97.

Arthur was born in Boston, he entered the US Army on December 20, 1944 and was honorably discharged July 25, 1946 as a 1st Lieutenant, Headquarters Company, during World War II.

Arthur and his wife Vera lived in Watertown raising their four children before moving to Belmont. He and his wife and son started the Venice Associates. He was a long time member & fierce competitor of the Belmont Tennis Club.  He was an adored husband and father, but his greatest love was for his 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

He is the beloved husband of the late Elvira “Vera” (Galante).  Devoted father of Judith Kavanagh & her husband Dennis of Belmont, Susan Venezia & her husband George Ruggiero of Boston, Stephen Venezia and his wife Lorna of Marblehead and the late Arthur M. Venezia & his surviving wife Barbara of Watertown.  Dear brother of William Venezia, Mario Venezia, & Eleanor Connors.  Proud Grandfather of 10 grandchildren: Michael, Linda, Christie, Jamie, Justine, Melissa, Shennan, David, Nick, Joanna and 18 great grandchildren.

Funeral from the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home at 270 Main St., Watertown on Thursday, January 3, 2018 at 9:30 am, followed by Funeral Mass in St. Luke's Church, 132 Lexington St., Belmont at 1030 am.  Relatives and friends kindly invited. 

Visiting hours Wednesday, January 2, 2018 from 4-8 pm.

Internment Mount Auburn Cemetery.
