Catherine Sullivan-MacDonald

Catherine Sullivan-MacDonald was born in Charlestown and lived in Watertown from age 12 on. She passed away on Sunday, August 19, 2018 in her home after battling aggressive cancer for over a year. Catherine was 66. 

She was the beloved wife of the Robert S. MacDonald who she had been married to for 28 years. Catherine was the daughter of the late Paul and Grace Sullivan. Loving mother of Meaghan of Watertown. As well as her son Robert J.R. and fiancé Katelyn Ryan of Berlin. Dear sister of Jim and his wife Carolyn Sullivan of Westford, along with their sons Thomas and Andrew. Dear sister of the late Kevin, David and Mark Sullivan. Dear sister to the late Paul Sullivan and surviving wife Betty Ann of Sarasota, along with sons, Paul and family of Lakewood and Joseph Sullivan and family of Tampa, all from Florida. Also survived by niece, Helen Sullivan of Everett. Also survived by many cousins. 

Catherine worked at Filene's in Downtown Crossing for 35 years after graduating from Watertown High School in 1971. Catherine loved her dog Oreo very much and enjoyed spending days with him on the porch. After he passed in January, Catherine was happy to have her grandpup Gryffin by her side till the end. Known to always help those around her and going the extra mile for anyone who needed it. She was a phenomenal cook, always making "the favorites" for her children. Spent many summers in Maine with her family as the ocean was one of her favorite places to be. A life long resident of Watertown, Catherine loved living in the Boston area, watching the Patriots on Sunday with her husband and being with her family and friends as much as possible.  

In lieu of memorial flowers, please make a donation to The Parmenter Foundation which works to help families bring their loved ones home for home hospice care for them to be comfortable till the end. Visiting hours will be at MacDonald Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home at 270 Main St. Watertown on Tuesday, August 28 from 4 to 7 PM followed by a service  at 7PM. Relatives and friends kindly invited.
