Elaine C. (Munroe) Root

A Funeral Mass for Elaine C. (Munroe) Root will be celebrated on Friday August 24th, 2018 at 10:30 am in Our Lady Help of Christians Parish, Newton.

Mrs. Root was a daughter of the late Clare G. and Florence (Troiani) Munroe.  Elaine passed away in the Mount Auburn Hospital on Sunday August 19th, 2018 after a period of declining health.  She was 76.

Born in Cambridge, she married David W. Root in 1965.  Together they owned Exotic Fish & Pet World in Hadley, MA for twenty years.  They moved to Watertown in 1985.  Elaine taught in the Boston Public School System as a special needs teacher.

She was the beloved wife of David W. Root. Dear sister of the late Leland F. and Richard G. Munroe.

Funeral from the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home at 270 Main St. Watertown on Friday August 24, 2018 at 9:30 AM, followed by Funeral Mass in Our Lady Help of Christians Parish, 573 Washington St. Newton at 10:30 AM. Relatives and friends kindly invited.

Visiting hours Thursday from 3-6 PM.

Interment Ridgelawn Cemetery.
