Joseph William Corrigan

Joseph William Corrigan of Watertown and Richmond MA died peacefully at home on April 16, 2018 after living with congestive heart failure. Beloved husband of Gail Oliver Corrigan. Loving father of Laura Oliver Corrigan of Newton and Alison Farkas & her husband Matthew of Longmeadow. Dear brother of Francis “Gus” Corrigan of Manchester NH. Loving grandfather of Layla Alice Corrigan, William & Luke Farkas. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins & friends.

Joe graduated from Newton (North) High class of 1950 and from St. Michael’s College class of 1954; attended graduate classes at Northeastern University. After serving in the Army overseas he joined the J.C.Corrigan family conveyor company; eventually becoming president in the 1960s. He completed his professional career at the Massachusetts Water Resource Association (MWRA) in Boston. Joe was fortunate to enjoy 14 year of travel and leisure with his beautiful wife throughout his retirement. Joe treasured the time he spent with his grandchildren, family and friends. A creative spirit, with beautiful smiling Irish eyes Joe had an amazing ability to live in the moment.  An open-minded man who took to heart ‘judge not’ will be lovingly remembered through art, nature, animals, good food and all the things he loved in life.

A Funeral Mass in the Church of the Sacred Heart, 1321 Centre St., NEWTON will be celebrated on Saturday April 21st at 12:00 noon. Relatives and friends kindly invited.

Visiting hours in MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home at 270 Main St. WATERTOWN on Friday from 4:30-7 PM.
