Karen was the loving daughter of the late Edward C. & Margaret A. (Moody) Hook. She passed away suddenly in Watertown, at the age of 42. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Karen leaves behind her sister Elizabeth “Betsy” Hook of Hoboken, NJ. Her aunts Barbara Moody of Pittsburgh, PA & Patti Hook of North Carolina. Along with many dear friends she considered part of her extended family, including friends’ children she called ‘nieces and nephews’, her Camp Bernadette family and so many others from every part of her life.
Karen received her undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia, and then later went on to receive a Masters Degree from Boston University. Born and raised in New York City, she moved to the Boston area in 2003 and while she was always a New Yorker at heart, she considered Boston her home ever since. For 13 years, she worked for the Howard Gotlieb Archival Research Center at Boston University where she had the opportunity to be a part of many incredible events and developed close relationships with her family of colleagues.
Friends and family are invited to attend a celebration of life for Karen on Saturday July 30th, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the Marsh Chapel, 735 Commonwealth Ave.
