A Funeral Service will be held in the Myrtle Baptist Church, 21 Curve Street West Newton on Friday, August 24th, 2018 for Monica J. Smith at 10 O’clock AM.

Monica, a daughter of the late Franklin J. Smith, passed away in Cambridge on Thursday August 2nd, 2018 after a brief period of declining health.  Monica was 65.

She was born Cape Palmas, Liberia. Monica earned a bachelors degree in business from Dartmouth University and worked diligently as a certified nurses aide for many years. Her passion in life was her beloved son, Franklin.  He was her pride and joy.

Monica was the loving Mother of Frankin O. Bright-Smith. Dear sister of Lorenzo, Aletha, Margaret, Pet, Reuben, Frankzella, Florence, John, Johnette, Frank, Jr. & Precious. Caring aunt of Michelle, Jack, Estelle, Faith, Eugene, Dakontee, Caletha, Levina, CJ, Monica (Angel), James, Quincy, Nadia, Avery, Loretta, Lloyd, Jr., Ramsey, Julius, Samuel, Rose, Monica, Patience, Herberetta, Franklin III, Archibalt, Landerman, Jerusha, James (Rooster), Oretha, Jared, Frankzella, & Franklin.

Followed by an interment in Ridgelawn Cemetery, Watertown.
