Rose (Mooradian) Garabedian

A Funeral Service will be celebrated on Friday July 6, 2018 at 11 am in St. James Armenian Church, Watertown for Rose (Mooradian) Garabedian.  Mrs. Garabedian, a daughter of the late Minus and Mary Mooradian, passed away Saturday morning, June 30th, 2018. Rose was 93.

Rose was the beloved wife of the late Oscar Garabedian. Devoted mother of Donna and Philip Garabedian both of Billerica and Steven Garabedian & his wife Christine of Belmont. Loving grandmother of Michael & his wife Bridget, Mark & his wife Kate, Peter & his wife Pam, Paul & his wife Chrissie, and Steven Jr. Garabedian. Great Grandmother to Hazel, Jane, Vera, Harrison, Jack, Brayden & Oscar Garabedian.

Rose was born and grew up in Watertown. After finishing high school, she continued her education and became a secretary for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.  After retiring from the State, she spent her time volunteering at Mount Auburn Hospital. Rose’s number one priority was family. She enjoyed summering in Maine with the boys, playing bingo, watching her game shows and taking the bus to Foxwoods.  She loved hosting Sunday dinners where everyone would get to eat her famous pilaf and as much lamb as they could. After dinner Rose would clear the table for a fierce game of family poker, which she would never win. Rose was an avid Boston sports fan and would typically fall asleep on her recliner watching the Red Sox.  She loved attending her grandchildren’s sporting events and never missed one of Paul’s hockey games throughout high school and college.

Rose got to spend many years living with her loving daughter Donna who cared for her greatly.  As Rose got older, she was fortunate to spend a lot of her time with her great grandchildren and enjoyed every second of it!  The best part of her week was on Monday when her Harrison would come and visit her. They would play together all day while Auntie Donna and Grandpa (Phil) kept a watchful eye.  Rosie will be missed tremendously and the memories we have of her will last forever.

Services at St. James Armenian Church, 465 Mt. Auburn St. Watertown on Friday July 6, 2018 at 11 am. Relatives and friends kindly invited.

Visiting hours in the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home at 270 Main St. Watertown, Thursday, July 5, 2018 from 4-7 PM.  

Interment Mt. Auburn Cemetery.
