Thomas Salvatore Lesanto passed away after a period of declining health Saturday morning November 23rd, 2019 in Needham.
He was the beloved son of the late Vito and Catherina (Zeccola) Lesanto. Thomas was 95.
Thomas was husband of the late Lily M. Lesanto (Scott), they were married for 69 years. Devoted father of Thomas R. Lesanto of Natick, Steven J. Lesanto of Southborough and the late Barbara R. Therrien, son-in-law of Paul Therrien of Holliston. Loving grandfather of Justin Therrien of Somerville and the late Dana Nicole Therrien. Dear brother of Marion Giordani of Braintree & the late James, Jenny, Joseph, Louise, & Leonard Lesanto, Ann Grogan, & Florence Gentile.
He was a graduate of Watertown High School and later on received a Bachelors degree in business from taking night classes at Harvard. He later went on to become president of Newton Shade & Blind Company.
Thomas enlisted in February 1943 and joined the Army Air Force. He was part of the Headquarters squadron 70th Fighter Wing. During his service Thomas flew B-17’s in WWII. In March of 1946 he was honorably discharged from the Army Air Forces.
A private funeral service will be held. Burial will be in the family lot, St. Patrick Cemetery, Watertown.
