Angelo Raymond Scalia. Age 90 passed away peacefully on October 5th, 2021. USN Korean War Veteran, having served aboard the USS Salerno Bay and the USS Hornet. Born in Waltham, he was the son of the late Raymond and Angelina Scalia (Salamone). Husband of the late Philomena Scalia (Pallone). Father of Geralyn (English) and Richard Scalia. He is also survived by his brothers, Joseph and Raymond and his sisters Mary and Rose, predeceased by his sister Fran and brother Richard. Proud Grandfather to Ashley, Jillian and Ariana and Great Grandfather to Mila.
Angelo started his career with Prudential and was a sales agent and sales manager for many years. He then went to work for Tandy (Radio Shack) and started selling Radio Shack franchises and dealerships in the northeast. He was promoted to Regional manager and achieved leaders club status on several occasions and was awarded with the leaders club diamond ring. He also set many company sales records. Angelo enjoyed deep sea fishing and especially loved to golf at Sandy Burr country club in Wayland. He spent many years as the starter at Sandy Burr and enjoyed being involved in all of the fund raising tournaments and company golf outings.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours in the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home, 270 Main St., Watertown on Tuesday October 12, from 3-6 PM, followed by a funeral service at 6.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Angelo’s memory may be made to Mt. Auburn Hospital, Development Office, 330 Mt. Auburn St. Cambridge, MA 02138
