Our beloved mother, Betsy Ruth Stobo Cooper, passed away on Tuesday, October 17th at her home in Crane Meadows, Marlborough.
She was 87 years young and is survived by her five children, Betsy Morrison: Concord, MA, Robin Barrows; Port Charlotte, FL, Keith Cooper; Wayland, MA, Jennifer Cooper; Wilmington DE, and Craig Cooper; Amesbury, MA. She was the doting grandmother of twelve grandchildren and remembered every birthday.
Mom was born in Somerville, MA and is predeceased by her husband Warren K Cooper. Their love story started at Somerville High School. They were married for 47 years.
Her parents, Betsy and John Stobo emigrated from Glasgow Scotland and mom was very proud of her Scottish roots.
Mom and Dad spent 20 years in Watertown, MA. They raised their children in a duplex home next door to her sister Rena and husband Ed King along with their three children. It was a loving home full of laughter, neighbors, and family gatherings. After dad passed away in 2002, mom moved to Crane Meadows where she found a marvelous new group of friends who delighted in wine time, Bocce ball tournaments and many card games.
