CAROL ANN DAILEY
Passed away on September 15 after a short illness. Carol was born to James and Florence (Kane) Dailey on May 2, 1945. She attended Belmont High School and graduated from Boston College, and she became a beloved first grade teacher in Weston where she remained for 35 years.
During her tenure in Weston, she was active in the Weston Teachers Association (later became the Weston Education Association) where she chaired the negotiating team that formulated the first contract between the Weston Administration and the teachers. She was then President of the WEA for four years. After she retired, she continued to represent the retired teachers during prolonged healthcare negotiations throughout the past 15 years.
Religion was a very important part of Carol's life. An avid churchgoer, she was a constant presence at daily mass, and a Baptism Assistant at St. Veronica parish in Burlington. Carol was also a member of the friends of St. Anthony's Parish in Woburn. In addition, she volunteered at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Brighton for many years.
Carol was predeceased by her parents and older brother, and is survived by her cousins Peggy, Jack, & Brenda, and their spouses. She was the godmother to Matthew Carbone and an honorary & treasured member of the Carbone family for many years. She is survived by many friends who cherished their relationships with her and will miss her greatly.
As per Carol’s wishes, there will not be a wake, but the public is invited to a funeral Mass in her honor at St. Margaret Church, 111 Winn St. Burlington, on Thursday September 22, 2022, at 10 AM. Burial will be private.
