GALLAGHER, Carole Ann (McGovern) Of Watertown and formerly of Somerville, passed away in her sleep after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease on September 22, 2022. Beloved wife of the late John Gallagher, devoted mother of John E. Gallagher II & his wife Kellie of Belmont and Anne-Courtney Isajewicz & her husband Major Peter Isajewicz U.S.M.C. stationed in South Korea. Cherished grandmother of Jack, Sean, Owen & Ryan Gallagher and Anastasia, Madeleine & Peter Isajewicz. Daughter of the late Frederick McGovern and Anastasia (Sullivan) McGovern of Somerville. Sister of the late Mary O’Brien, Patricia, Frederick, and Kevin McGovern.
Carole was a graduate of Somerville High School Class of ‘58. Carole spent her early professional career with Connecticut Mutual Insurance as an executive assistant. Later, while working for AT&T, she participated in the 1983 nationwide Telephone Workers strike, imparting the lesson to her children to never cross a picket line. After leaving the workforce, she devoted her time to raising her two children and volunteered for several parent-educational organizations at both B.C. High and Mt. Alvernia High School.
A visitation will be held Tuesday October 4, 2022, from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM in the MacDonald Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home at 270 Main St. Watertown followed by Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, 770 Mt. Auburn St., Watertown at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Interment St. Patrick Cemetery, Watertown.
