Claire L. (Hanson) Parks

Claire L. (Hanson ) Parks of Nashua, NH formerly of Lexington, MA went to be with the Lord on January 23, 2022. She was 96 years young. She was the beloved wife of the late Charles E. Parks with whom they were married for 59 years. She is survived by her loving daughters Cynthia D. Skinner and her husband David of Chelmsford and Charlotte A. Ficara and her husband Nuccio of Bedford. She was the cherished grandmother of Amy Thomas and her husband Ben of Wake Forest, NC, Lauren McHugh and her husband Kevin of Chelmsford, Joseph Ficara, and Joanna Giordano and her husband Mark all of Bedford. She loved and adored her great grandchildren Charlie and Abby Giordano, Madeline and Olivia McHugh, and Riley Thomas. She was the dear sister of the late Shirley B. Urquhart of Lexington. Also loved by many nieces and nephews.

Claire grew up in Lexington, married and lived there until 1993 when she and Charlie moved to Nashua. Children were her passion and for many years, she taught nursery school at the Church of Our Redeemer and at the United Methodist Church. Claire was a woman of strong faith and she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School for many years at Grace Chapel.   

Family was very important to Claire. She loved family camping trips to Maine, going for walks with the grandchildren, trips to Bermuda and winters in Florida. She was the ultimate caregiver making sure her family came first. She was a cherished friend to many and was always willing to help anyone in need. She was a good cook and loved entertaining, making sure everything was just right.

Due to Covid, there will be a private funeral service in the Community Chapel Church of the Nazarene, Nashua. A graveside service will be held on Friday January 28, 2022 at 1pm in the Westview Cemetery, 520 Bedford St. Lexington, MA. Family and friends  welcome. Memorials in Claire's memory may be made to D'Youville Senior Care, 981 Varnum Ave. Lowell, MA 01854.
