Clayton S. Peabody

A Funeral service for Clayton S. Peabody of Watertown will be held on Monday February 12, 2024, at 12 Noon in the MacDonald Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home.

Mr. Peabody was born in Cambridge to the late Clayton & Ruth (Smith) Peabody. Clayton passed away on February 6, 2024.  He was 84.

Clayton met Jean and served time in the Army.They married in 1961 and lived in Germany for a year, before moving back to the States. They lived in Newton and Watertown while raising their family.

Clayton worked many decades at Dodakins Auto Sales in Somerville before retiring in 2016. He enjoyed gardening, golfing, listening to music, playing at the casinos with friends, and most of all spending many days at his cottage by the Lake with family.

He was the beloved husband of Jean K. (Dodakin) Peabody.  Loving father of Cheryl L. Martino & her husband Tony of Watertown, the late Jeannine M. Peabody of Waltham, and the late Clayton J. Peabody. Dear brother of the late Wayne Peabody. Loving grandfather of Jessica Crusco, Colleen O’Connor, Ryan O’Connor, Laura Baker, and Kaitlyn Meehan. Doting great-grandfather of 6 great-grandchildren. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held in the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home, 270 Main St., Watertown on Monday February 12, from 10:00 AM to 12 Noon, followed by a funeral service at 12 Noon. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Interment Ridgelawn Cemetery.
