Donald L. Pentleton of Watertown passed away on Thursday February 11, 2021, he was 84 years of age.
Don was born in Boston and raised in Watertown to the late Lawrence & Ruth Pentleton. He was a proud veteran of the Army National Guard, serving from 1958 to 1964. While in the service, he earned the rank of SP4 and played drums in the Army Band.
Donald’s greatest passions in life were his love for his family and love for music. He was a wonderful Father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a graduate of the New England Conservatory of Music and a locally renowned jazz drummer who helped keep the Big Band Era alive. Don was a member of the famous Hal McIntyre Orchestra, a 16-member big-band group.
He was the loving father of Pamela R. Pentleton & her life partner John Antonucci, Diane M. Faherty & her late husband James, Robert A. Pentleton, and Roberta L. O’Leary & her fiancé Norman Eldredge. Beloved grandfather of Kenneth Laccitello, Jr., Robert Laccitello, Amber O’Leary, Ashley O’Leary, & Benjamin Faherty. Also survived by 3 great-grandchildren and his loving girlfriend Alanna Manning-Tomasello .
Visiting hours in the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald funeral home 270 Main St. Watertown Wed. February 17th from 5-8 PM. Those over 60 & those with underlying health conditions may visit between 5-6 PM, all others are invited to attend between 6-8 PM. Due to the current precautions surrounding Covid-19, please abide by the social distancing guidelines and wear a mask.
Funeral service & interment will be held privately.
