Donna J. Rowe, of Waltham, MA passed away peacefully on July 20, 2021. Her dog, Sadie, was by her. She was 74.
Donna, the daughter of Joseph and Helen (Flannery) Annis, was born and raised in Brighton, Mass. She worked as a nurse, retiring recently from Franciscan Children’s. Donna is survived by her brother, David Annis, & his wife, Heather, of BC, Canada, and niece, Stephanie Duquette (Annis) of Milford, Mass. She is predeceased by her brother, Michael Annis.
Donna had many passions in her life: taking care of children, which she did for many years at Franciscan Children’s; rescuing dogs; and watching her favorite sports teams: the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox. She was a wonderful neighbor, always keeping watch over those who lived nearby and, naturally, greeting their dogs as she went on her walks. She had a special relationship with many friends and neighbors, in particular Debbie Hill, Marlene Boyd, Francisco Torres, and Michael McNulty who always made sure she felt loved.
Friends and family may come to pay their respects at a graveside service at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, 990 Lagrange Street West Roxbury 02132 on Tuesday july 27, 2021 at 12 Noon.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that you make a donation to the Northeast Animal Shelter (Salem, Mass.) where Donna often rescued her pets, or to the dog shelter of your choice.
