Dorothy Ann Bowler died May 1, 2025 in Dover NH, formerly of Milton, MA and Watertown, MA. 1930-2025. A native of Worcester, MA, she was the daughter of John and Mary (O'Brien) Brennan. Devoted wife of the late Donald J. Bowler, sister of the late Agnes Maria Brennan, late Marie Brennan, and late John Brennan. She earned a BA in Mathematics at Clark University in 1952 where she was homecoming queen and co-captain of the undefeated woman’s basketball team. She was an analog and digital computer programmer at MIT. She earned a Master's in Education from Boston State College and is a retired math teacher at the Newton Country Day School of the Sacred Heart.
Loved by her children Deborah L. Bowler of Deerfield NH, Timothy B. Bowler and partner Deb Hynes of Canton MA, David J. Bowler of Watertown, MA, Michael J. Bowler and wife Kathleen Bowler of Walpole MA, Dennis P. Bowler and partner Laura Williams of Windham, NH, 10 grandchildren Meghan and husband Austin Oleskie, Brittany and husband Jake Whitt, Ryan and wife Hilary Bowler, Patrick, Sean and wife Sarah Eknaian, Casey Lyn and husband Igor Sytnyk, Christopher, Matthew and wife Mary Moynihan, Catherine, and Brendan, and 4 great grandchildren: John “Jack”, Hallie, Emma, and Elle.
Mrs. Bowler was an avid swimmer enjoying summers at Lake Winona in NH and a voracious reader.
Visiting hours on Friday from 10- 11:30 am at the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home at 270 Main St., on Rte. 20, Watertown, followed by a Funeral Mass at 12 o'clock in Saint Patrick's Church, 212 Main St., Watertown. Interment at Ridgelawn Cemetery, Watertown. Relatives and friends kindly invited.
