Dorothy grew up in Dorchester and moved to Watertown after marrying the love of her life, John R. Cameron, where she resided for the remainder of her life.  Dorothy and John were happily married until the passing of John in 2013.

Dorothy was a graduate of Mt. Auburn Hospital School of Nursing and continued her career there and dedicated her time and efforts to caring for others, until she retired after more than 35 years of service.

Dorothy was an incredibly kind and intelligent woman.  Her gentle and calming nature transcended beyond her work life, which was apparent in the way she loved her family, her friends and family pets.

Dorothy will be remembered for her love of reading.  As an avid reader, Dorothy enjoyed regularly visiting the Watertown Public Library.
