Edward B. Loughran, 71, of Hobe Sound and Winter Springs, Florida, formerly of Belmont, Massachusetts, passed away October 20, 2025, after a brief illness. He was the beloved and devoted son of the late Bernard and Marion Loughran.
Raised in Watertown and Belmont, Edward graduated from New Prep in 1972 and Boston College in 1976. He worked as a contracts administrator for Florida Power & Light and Siemens, primarily in the utility industry, securing parts and service for nuclear power plants in the power industry.
He was the beloved brother of James Loughran and his wife Karen of Framingham, Marcia Greeley and her husband Gerard of Waltham, Bernard Loughran and his wife Sandra of Belmont, and Paul Loughran and his partner Matthew Ellis of Plantation, Florida. Edward was also a beloved and cool uncle to Darren Greeley, Matthew Greeley, Kara Greeley, Molly Greeley, Stephanie Johansen, Patrick Loughran, and Kerry Loughran and the late Christopher Loughran.
Ed possessed an independent spirit and a big smile. He enjoyed travel, driving fast, and spending time with his family and friends and his dog, Lexi. He loved hosting his family at “Club Ed” and making memories with all. He could do anything with his hands, undertaking projects like auto body work, mechanics, home projects and refinishing furniture. He had a big heart and will be greatly missed by all.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday November 19, 2025 from 9 AM to 11 AM in the MacDonald Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home at 270 Main St. Watertown followed by Funeral Service at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Interment St. Patrick Cemetery.
