Eva May (Bell) MacDougall of Brighton age 92, passed away August 18, 2025. Daughter of Walter Hicks Bell and Christina MacDonald Bell. Beloved wife of the late Donald F. MacDougall. Loving mother of Donald & his wife Jayne, Robert & his wife Maryann, Brian & his wife Evelyn, Bruce, and Gary. Dear sister of the late Elinor Ford, Doris MacKay, and Everett Bell. Loving grandmother of Andrew, Robert, Sarah, Matthew, and Julie. Great-grandmother of Mason, Maddison, Tyler, Parker, Blake, & Nora. Also survived by her step family, Lena Bell & her children Lenny, Cathy, Morley, and Marie.
Eva was born in Tryon, Prince Edward Island and moved to Boston, USA when she was 18 years old. However, the Island was forever her home and always with her in spirit. She spoke of it often and lovingly. She enjoyed returning every summer with her family to Stanhope. Visiting relatives and PEI family reunions brought her great joy. Eva was known to all as easy going with a unique smile and laughter that was infectious and unforgettable. She always saw the good in people. Eva was a wonderful grandmother to her five grandchildren who adored her and treasured the many memories of being with her. She loved to bargain shop and at Christmas, she was affectionately known as “Nana Claus.”
A funeral service for Eva took place on Thursday August 21, at St. Michael Cemetery, Boston.
