He adored his collegiate friends throughout the years, born out of this his ability to disarm anyone with a joke or a smile.

Garrett was a Navy Veteran, having served on both submarines and aircraft carriers. His love of the ocean was unyielding,  His entrepreneurial spirit, led him to start his own business, “Barden,” in Belmont, for over 25 years.  His golf and tennis community through Oakley Country Club brought him joy and fostered his social spirit.

He was the beloved husband of the late Ann Marie (Deneen) Barry. Loving father of Sean M. Barry and Elizabeth Anne Barry, both of Watertown. Dear brother of Eileen (Barry) Banta of California and the late Geraldine “Geri,” Myslicki, Lorraine Barry and Jean Marie Barry. He is adored by many nieces and nephews.
