Helen (Smith-Dawson) Thompson

A funeral Mass for Helen (Smith-Dawson) Thompson will be celebrated on Monday September 23, 2024, at 10 AM St. Patrick Church, Watertown.

Helen was born in Dorchester to the late Thomas W. McHugh & Rose M. (Buckley) McHugh. Helen passed away peacefully on September 18, 2024.  She was 85.

She was the beloved mother of Patricia (Smith) of Watertown, Bill (Smith) of New York, Julie Smith of Lowell, James Smith & his partner Aurora of Stoughton, Teresa Dawson & her partner Michael Cappellucci of Gilmanton, NH, Michele (Dawson) Burns of Watertown, Lori (Dawson) Urizar & her husband Carlos of Watertown, and the late Don Smith. Dear sister of Richard McHugh, David McHugh, and the late Thomas McHugh and Rose Young. Loving grandmother of Jeffrey Maher & his wife Rhonda of Woonsocket, RI, Kenneth Caliri of Newton, Tyler Smith of Rhode Island, Molly Smith of Watertown, Lauren (Burns) Mercurio of Pepperell, Meaghan Burns of Watertown, Mariana Urizar of Watertown, and Isabel Urizar of Watertown. Loving great-grandmother to several great-grandchildren. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Sunday September 22 from 1 to 4 PM in the MacDonald Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home at 270 Main St. Watertown. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick Church, 212 Main st. Watertown on Monday September 23 at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
