Of Joplin Missouri, formerly of Somerville, passed away on Thursday March 17, 2022.
He was the oldest son of the late Edward & Barbara (Walton) Beaunoyer, he was preceded in death by his dear sister Marie Brueggeman of Watertown just two weeks earlier. He is survived by his sister Linda Fiorello of Windham NH, brother Vaughn Beaunoyer of Joplin Missouri, and by many nieces and nephews in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Missouri.
Howard, better known to his many friends and co-workers as “Howie”, was born in Sanford Maine but was a Somerville resident for many decades. He was a graduate of Somerville High School and a loyal parishioner and volunteer at Saint Ann’s Catholic Church in Winter Hill. He lived in Medford briefly before settling in Joplin, MO the past several years to enjoy the company of his brother Vaughn and the many nieces, nephews, and extended family in the area. He enjoyed his retired life in southwest Missouri and quickly became a parishioner of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Webb City. Howie was a proud union member with the railroad for close to 40 years. Starting with the Boston and Maine (B&M) Railroad in Billerica before retiring with Amtrak in the early 2000’s. He also briefly served in the United States Army.
Howie was a die-hard Boston sports fan and would frequently call relatives back home to check in on all the teams’ latest news, or to complain about how “bad” the teams were doing. He was an avid candlepin bowler and participated in many leagues and tournaments over the years. Howie was well known wherever he went, was always quick to lend a hand, and was a gentleman to one and all. He made sure that every member of the family was up to date on all the happenings across the generations, making sure no one missed out on any news. He will surely be missed by the many friends, coworkers, and loved ones blessed by his presence over the years.
Howard will be interred in his family’s grave, along with his sister Marie, in a private ceremony at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett.
