Joan Gertrude (Bloomer) Malis

A Funeral Mass for Joan Gertrude (Bloomer) Malis will be celebrated on Wednesday March 8, 2023, at 11:00 am, in the Church of St. Patrick, 212 Main St. Watertown.

A daughter of the late John & Mary Ann (Woods) Bloomer, Joan passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on February 28, 2023, after a period of declining health.

Joan was the devoted mother of John C. Malis & his wife Sally of Arlington and Laurie M. Giovino & her husband Anthony of Westford. Loving grandmother of Sarah Elizabeth Malis, Laura MaryKate Malis, Anthony Michael Giovino, Nicholas Mitchell Giovino, Ally Elizabeth Giovino, and J.T. Malis. Dear sister of the late Jane P. Shutt, Gerard J. Bloomer, Gerald O. Bloomer, Agnes M. Maguire, Kevin D. Bloomer, Frances E. O’Neil, Margaret E. O’Brien, and Harold J. Bloomer. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held Wednesday March 8, from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM in the MacDonald Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home at 270 Main St. Watertown followed by Funeral Mass in St. Patrick Church, 270 Main St. Watertown at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. After the Mass, Joan will be buried with her parents in St. Patrick Cemetery, Watertown.
