Due to the current precautions surrounding Covid-19 a funeral service for John J. “J.J.” Delaney will be held privately.
J.J. was the son of the late John & Mary Elizabeth Delaney. Mr. Delaney passed away Tuesday evening December 15, 2020. He was 82.
John was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland and immigrated to America in his twenties. In August of 1959 he married the love of his life Bridget, the two of them were happily married for 47 years. Together they raised their family of five in the South side of Watertown.
J.J. was a skilled acoustical carpenter, a trade he learned when he came to America. He was always a hard worker and would do anything for his family.
He was the beloved husband of the late Bridget “Bridie” (Short) Delaney. Loving father of Eamon Delaney & his wife Marymichele of Framingham, Mari Rose & her husband Rusty of Framingham, Christopher Delaney & his wife Mary of Belmont, Caroline Jacobs & her husband Edward of East Bridgewater & Bridget Molinari & her husband Scott of Waltham. Devoted grandfather of Joshua & Elizabeth Delaney, Maegan & Hannah Rose, Christopher & Katherine Delaney-Rodriguez, and Matthew, Jordan, & Ryan Jacobs. Dear brother of Eileen, Kathleen, and John Delaney, Margaret Underlay, Mary Findlay & the late William and Jean Delaney.
Due to the current precautions surrounding Covid-19 a funeral service and interment in Ridgelawn Cemetery will be held privately. Retired acoustical carpenter for Cheviot Co.
