John F. "Fitzy" Fitzgerald

John F. “Jackie” Fitzgerald of Watertown passed away on Monday  April 6, 2020 in his home surround by his loving family after a long illness, he was 73 years of age.

Jackie was born in Brighton to the late James & Ann (Sullivan) Fitzgerald. He was a proud graduate of St. Patrick's High School, Class of 1964

He worked for the State as an accountant and later at Boston University.  John loved spending time with his close friends and could usually be found at a basketball court, baseball diamond, or anywhere his children had a game, as he rarely missed one.  He cherished his summer vacation time with family in York Beach, and later Wells Beach, Maine

Fitzy is the beloved husband of Joanne T. (Dunn) Fitzgerald. Devoted father of Sean M. Fitzgerald (Watertown FD) and his wife Holly of Wilmington & Tim J. Fitzgerald & his wife Erin of Burlington. Dear brother of the late James M. & William J. Fitzgerald. Loving grandfather to Hunter, Reagan, Liam, & Shaelyn Fitzgerald. Also survived by several nieces, nephews, & cousins.  

As a result of the public health concerns and limitations established for large gatherings the Funeral Service and Interment will be private.  A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
