Joseph Dinardo Obituary

A Funeral Mass for Joseph Anthony Dinardo will be celebrated on Saturday August 7, 2021 at 10:30 am, in the Church of Saint Camillus, Arlington.

 

A son of the late Antonio and Anna (DiCosmo) Dinardo, Joseph passed away peacefully with his family by his side.

 

Mr. Dinardo was a proud veteran of the United States Navy.  He served as a Motor Machinist’s Mate, 1st Class during World War II. After his service, Joseph became of proud member of the Burnham-Manning V.F.W. Post #1105 and a member of the American Legion.

 

Joseph was born in Watertown, MA. He was one of seven children. He was a graduate of Watertown High School and after high school he join the Navy. After his service, he worked as an independent contractor in sales and public relations for fifty years for the A. Rifken Company. After working with A. Rifken, he moved over to the McKesson & Robbins Pharmaceutical Company, where he was awarded their “Man of the Year” after only three years as a salesman.

 

He actively participated in a number of church related functions and activities, as a leader and selected to head certain various organizations. Such as president of the Holy Name Society, co-chairman of the Archdiocesan Cardinal’s Appeal, chairman & president First Parish Council, co-chairman of the building committee of St. Camillus Parish, and numerous other leadership roles in St. Camillus.

 

Joseph was the chairman of the chairman of the Don Orione nursing home in East Boston & chairman of the Madonna Queen National Shrine. President of the Knights of Don Orione, an organization devoted for the benefit of charity. Joseph received the “Man of the Year” honor from the Don Orione Community for his work and effort to the Shrine and Nursing Home.

 

One of Joseph’s proudest accomplishments was he was promoted to the top honor of “Knight Grand Cross” of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulcher of Jerusalem, the honor was given to him by the Cardinal of the Archdiocese of Boston.

 

He was the beloved husband for 62 years of the late Josephine A. “Tedi” (Haskell) Dinardo. Devoted father of Mark A. Dinardo and his wife Tracy of Chelmsford and Judith Ann O’Keefe and her husband Patrick of Atkinson, NH. Dear brother of the late Mary Caira, Joanne Taverna, Louis Dinardo, Rose Melideo, Lawrence Dinardo, & Annette Aucoin. Also loved by his grandchildren: Justin Dinardo, Michel Ruth, Jr., Joseph David Ruth, Zachary Ruth, Gabriel O’Brien, Makayla Ruth, Shawna Ruth, and the late Melissa Dinardo, 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

 

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend his Funeral Mass on Saturday, August 7, at 10:30 A.M. in the Church of St. Camillus, 1185 Concord Turnpike (Route 2), Arlington 02476.

 

At his request burial services will be private at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. Please respect his wishes.

 

In lieu of flowers, donations in Joseph’s memory may be made to the Don Orione Nursing Home, 111 Orient Ave., East Boston 02128 or St. Camillus Parish, 1175 Concord Turnpike, Arlington 02476.
