A Mass of Christian Burial for Kevin P. Kelly of Watertown will be held on Thursday November 13, 2025, at 10 AM in the Church of St. Patrick, 212 Main St. Watertown.
Kevin was born in Waltham to Patricia R. (Doucette) Kelly and the late Joseph L. Kelly, III. He passed away suddenly on November 8, 2025. He was 52.
Kevin was a lifelong Watertown resident, whose warmth and generosity touched everyone he met. His kind spirit had a way of making people feel at ease, and his smile could brighten any room.
Kevin began his career in hospitality at Au Bon Pain while still in high school, starting as a sandwich maker and working his way up to General Manager overseeing multiple stores. He later spent nearly two decades with Delaware North Sportservice at Boston University’s Agganis Arena serving as Commissary Supervisor and Concessions Manager. In every role Kevin brought joy to those around him. During the pandemic, Kevin embraced a new challenge joining Eastern Industrial Automation in Waltham as warehouse manager and expanding into sales. Hardworking and generous, Kevin also spent many years landscaping alongside his childhood friend Jim Reardon. Even in recent years he still retained a handful of his own customers and continued caring for neighbors, friends and family for whom he would always lend a helpful hand.
Kevin had a passion for good food and loved sharing photos of his culinary creations and favorite restaurant dishes. His family joked that he had more photos of food than of himself and his friends. He played in a bowling league at Lanes & Games in Cambridge for many years and was saddened upon its closing. He visited Hawaii twice with friends and also traveled to several states to attend baseball games.
Above all, Kevin will be remembered for his warm smile, his gentle humor, and his ability to make everyone feel welcome. He truly brought joy to every life he touched and will be remembered as the kindest man you’ll ever meet.
He was the beloved son of Patricia R. (Doucette) Kelly and the late Joseph L. Kelly, III. Loving brother of Maureen L. Doherty & her husband Kevin C. of Brighton. Caring uncle of Edward L. Doherty, Caitlyn L. Doherty, and Joseph L. Doherty. Kevin is also survived by his aunt and godmother Janice Taleas, many cousins, dear friends, and his beloved dogs Sandy and Molly.
