Margaret "Peg" M. (Buckley) Sutherland

Margaret “Peg” M. Sutherland (Buckley), of Watertown, Massachusetts passed away on January 10, peacefully at the age of 94 years old.

She was the beloved wife for 63 years of the late Joseph Chester Sutherland; devoted mother of James Sutherland of Hull, Jean Clive of Boxborough, Joseph C. Sutherland, Jr. of Watertown and Judy Russo and her husband Joseph of Dennis; dear sister of the late Doris (Buckley) Kolb of Newton; grandmother of Ryan Sutherland, Kathryn Sutherland, Jacquelynn McElwain and her husband Andrew, Nicholas Sutherland, Jordan Sutherland, Michael Russo and his fiancé Devon Tsinzo and Danielle (Russo) Flaherty and her husband Brendan; and great-grandmother of Haley, Ashley, A.J., and Sydney McElwain.

Mrs. Sutherland, a daughter of the late James T. and Mary (Shea) Buckley, was born in Newton. She was a lifelong Watertown resident and a graduate of Newton North High School, Class of 1945. She dedicated her life to raising four wonderful children, establishing the family business, Sutherland Oil Company in Watertown and selling homes for Coldwell Banker real estate company in Belmont. Peg was an avid golfer and a member of the Oakley Country Club in Watertown for over 50 years.

Funeral from the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home at 270 Main St., on Rte. 20, WATERTOWN, on Friday at 9:30 AM. Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM in the Church of St. Jude, 147 Main St., Waltham. Interment Ridgelawn Cemetery. Calling hours: Thursday 4-8 PM.
