It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Maria Alejandra Gordon of Watertown, MA, on September 15th, 2021 at the age of 62. She was the beloved daughter of Ignacio and Angelina Flores of Veracruz, Mexico. Maria was predeceased by her loving husband, Dr. Michael Gordon, with whom she shared many years of companionship and devotion to each other. She was the cherished mother of Jose Barradas; wife Elizabeth, of Natick, MA and Oscar Barradas of Watertown, MA, and stepmother of Adam Gordon and Deborah Gordon McNeilly of Portsmouth, NH; husband Michael. She will be sorely missed and survived by her brothers Ignacio Flores of El Raudal, Mexico, Salvador Flores of Houston, TX, and Antonio Flores of El Raudal, Mexico, and her sisters Guadalupe Flores of Xalapa, Mexico, Adriana Castaneda Flores of Zacapoaxtla, Mexico, and Edith Beristein Flores of Tlaxcala, Mexico. Maria will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Thomas and Julia Barradas and Leo and Alexandra McNeilly. She leaves behind a large extended family in Mexico and Texas.
Maria was born on March 29th, 1959 in El Raudal, Veracruz, Mexico. She moved with her sons to Houston, TX in 1985 where they lived for eleven years before moving to Watertown, MA in 1996. In 2003, Maria married Mike and they lived in Cambridge, MA before moving to Watertown, MA. Maria worked for many years as a Medical Interpreter at both Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital and Mt. Auburn Hospital.
Maria loved spending time with family, especially her children and grandchildren who adored her. She spent many months in Mexico enjoying the company of her sisters and brothers and nieces and nephews. Maria cherished the time she spent with her husband Mike and their travels abroad. She enjoyed riding her bike with Mike, long walks and cooking for her family.
A funeral mass will be held at the Church of St. Patrick in Watertown, MA at 212 Main Street on Tuesday at 10:00AM. Burial to follow at Ridgelawn Cemetery on Stuart Street in Watertown.
