Marie Janet (Beaunoyer) Brueggeman

A Funeral Service for Marie Janet Brueggeman will be celebrated on Saturday March 12, 2022, at 12 Noon, in the MacDonald Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home.

A daughter of the late Edward & Barbara (Walton) Beaunoyer, Marie passed away Friday afternoon. She was 71.

She was the loving mother of James J. “JJ” Brueggeman & his wife Susanne of Watertown. Beloved grandmother of William & Timothy Brueggeman. Dear sister of Linda Fiorello of Windham NH, Howard Beaunoyer and Vaughn Beaunoyer both of Joplin Missouri.  She is also survived by many nieces and nephews in New Hampshire and Missouri.

Marie was born and raised in Somerville.  She was a graduate of Somerville High School and lived there for many years.  She also resided in Salem, Lynn, and Medford before settling in Watertown the past several years.  Marie worked at Cara Donna’s Bakery in Magoun Square Somerville for several years and most recently with Auto Zone.

Marie loved nature and animals alike.  She was especially fond of cats and cherished the many she had as companions throughout her lifetime.  She was a big fan of Disney movies and would never miss the chance to relax while watching them along with other classics films.  However, her most treasured moments were the times spent being “Mem-May” to her grandsons Will and Timmy.  She always looked forward to long car rides capped off by “lunch dates” with her son JJ’s family.  Whether it be summertime trips to local clam shacks, impromptu stops at classic car shows, leisurely drives along New England’s many coastlines, or grabbing a meal at Friendly’s in the middle of winter, these were the times she was at her happiest.

When distances between her and family members made visits less frequent, Marie found other ways to connect, whether through handwritten letters to her nieces or very long phone conversations with her siblings.  You would never find Marie without a smile on her face, and she always found a way to use humor or silliness to make you feel at ease.  She made sure that when people left her home that they had a sweet treat, or warm hug, to remember her by.

Visiting hours will be held in the MacDonald Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home 270 Main St., Watertown on Saturday March 12th from 10 AM to 12 Noon.  A service will immediately follow at 12 Noon, at the funeral home. Relatives and friends are kindly invited for both the visiting hours and the service.
