Mary Campbell Obituary

Mary Margaret (Smith) Campbell, age 91 of Belmont, formerly of Watertown & Broad Cove, Cape Breton Island, passed away on February 8, 2022. She was a daughter of the late John A. Smith and Katie-Ann (MacDonnel) Smith.
 

Mrs. Campbell was born and raised in Broad Cove, Cape Breton Island. Mary moved to West Roxbury in her early 20's and worked as a domestic companion. She met her husband Dougie through a family friend, John MacKinnon, and they were married in Watertown. They lived their lives in Watertown for many years.

 

Mary was a woman of deep faith. She lived her faith everyday in her life through compassion, kindness, generosity and devotion to family and friends. She loved the beach, summers in Broad Cove and family fun. Mary is also known as a fantastic cook! Her meals and desserts were always delicious and fan favorites.

 

Mary was beloved wife of the late John Douglas Campbell. Dear sister of Peter A. Smith & his wife Catherine of Natick Massachusetts, Donna MacLean & her husband Wesley of Scotsville, Nova Scotia, Mae Ann Beaton of Port Hood, Nova Scotia, and the late John Harold Smith, Theresa Ann Smith, Hughena Smith, Margaret Smith, Sister Marie Smith, Kay Sexton, James Hugh Smith, Donald Angus Smith, Charlie Angus Smith, and Alexander Smith. Also survived by several nieces, nephews, and her extended family in Cape Breton and Massachusetts.

 

A Funeral Mass will be held in the Church of St. Mary, 133 School St. Waltham on Wednesday February 16 at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends kindly invited.
