Nicoletta LaLiberte Obituary

A Funeral Mass for Nicoletta LaLiberte will be held at Sacred Heart Church, Watertown on Thursday July 11, 2024, at 9:30 AM.

Mrs. Nicoletta (Lanci) LaLiberte passed away peacefully July 6, 2024, surrounded by loved ones. Nicoletta was predeceased by her husband of many years, Richard LaLiberte. Nicoletta and Richard resided in their lovely home together in Belmont for many years.

The couple enjoyed a lively social life, where it was said "Nikki was always welcoming". They enjoyed Ballroom Dancing, morning walks, movie going and dining out with friends and cousins alike.

Nikki worked out regularly, a devotee of aerobics. Later, the instructor, Judy, would give private lessons at their home, when Richard's health failed. Judy recalled that Nikki was very conscientious of his care, wanting the very best for him.

Nicoletta was adored by her parents, Lillian and Leo, and, in turn, she was devoted to them. They enjoyed family dinners, with her mom as the cook, Nikki the baker. On Many Saturday mornings she would be out with mom to the salon and lunch "to give my father a break", she would say with her incredible humor!

Her cousins, Grace and Joann and Frances were like her siblings, and she enjoyed endless hours of fun with them, even as they aged, getting together for dinners, or sharing books between them. Cousin Pam helped Nikki to continue visiting her dear cousin until she passed. She was grateful for this time with them both!

Nicoletta was a great lover of and supporter of animals. Cats were a favorite, and rarely was her home without one, even if it was "on loan"! So much of an animal lover, she has bequeathed some of her estate to their care.

Nikki was always a hard worker, liking things "just so", and skilled at delegating. She spent the majority of her career at Liberty Mutual, where she made lifelong friendships that she remembered fondly. Nicoletta was an amazing friend. She and her childhood friend Jessie boast a relationship spanning over 90 years!! Her dear friend Connie as well. and Nikki was Godmother to children of each of them.

In recent years, a devoted group of friends helped to care for Nikki. Team Nikki did not disappoint, and included many devoted caregivers, some who became like her own children and grandchildren, skilled hospice care through AlICare to guide and support the group. Others spent hours visiting, bringing cookies, pizza and meatballs to delight her, or just to stop by and give her a kiss on the forehead! In the end, responsibilities were

dispersed between them, it was a true labor of love.

Nicoletta was a kind, thoughtful, and beautiful woman who had an incredible snarky sense of humor, which will be infinitely missed!

Words fail to encompass a life so large in such a tiny person!! Nicoletta LaLiberte will be missed! May her memory by eternal.

She was the beloved wife of the late Richard P. LaLiberte. Dear sister-in-law of Caesaria LaLiberte & her late husband Bernard. Survived by her friends Janet Welch, Lenis Balzac, Joe Noone and many other friends & neighbors.

A Funeral Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Church, 770 Mt. Auburn St. Watertown on Thursday July 11, 2024, at 9:30 AM. Friends & family kindly invited to attend. Interment Newton Cemetery.
