Peter Edward Proulx
Peter passed away peacefully on November 16, 2023, at his daughter and son-in- law's home in Enfield, N.H., after a year of declining health. He was a man of deep faith who loved his family and friends dearly.
He was born in Burlington, Vt., on February 13, 1930, and was a Korean War veteran, stationed in Japan as a U.S. Air Force chaplain assistant from 1950 to 1954. He graduated from St. Michael's College in Vermont in 1956. He was employed at GTE Sylvania in Needham, Mass., from 1963 until he retired in 1992.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Virginia K. (Ginny) Proulx; a son, Stephen E. Proulx; his parents, Edward P., and Lydia M. (Huard) Proulx; and a sister, Joan E. Proulx.
He is survived by three sons, Joseph A. Proulx and his wife, Sheila Hall Proulx of Missouri, Edward P. Proulx of Massachusetts, and Gerard E. (Jerry) Proulx of Vermont whose wife, Susan (French) Proulx, is deceased; a daughter, Joan E. Proulx of New Hampshire and her husband, Bryan S. Pulley; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
His funeral will be at St. Patrick Church in 212 Main St. Watertown, Massachusetts, on Wednesday November 29, 2023, at 10 AM. Prior to the Mass a visitation will take place at 9 AM in the MacDonald Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home, 270 Main St. Watertown. Burial will take place at Mount Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge following the Mass.
