A visitation for Robert W. “Bob” Battease will be held in the MacDonald Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home on Thursday July 30, 2020.
Bob was the loving son of the late Robert W. Battease & Beatrice (Wheeler) Battease & the loving father of the late Robert M. Battease. He passed away Tuesday morning at his residence in Watertown after a long battle with cancer. Bob was 84.
He is survived by his beloved companion Maureen L. (Stone) Rooney of Watertown. Devoted father of Tracy Battease of Grandville, NY and Lorrie White of Franklin Springs, NY. Devoted stepfather of Joe Rooney of Watertown. Loving grandfather of Shannon, Josh, Ryan, Brittany, Amber, Billy, Jennifer, Danielle, Madelyn, Julia, and Joseph. Caring great-grandfather of 12.
Mr. Battease served in the United States Air Force for twelve years. He was overseas for over two of those twelve years and while back in the United States was stationed at Fort Douglas in Utah and Cannon Air Force Base in New Mexico. After his service, Bob worked for 35 years as a conductor for the railroad. He was an avid outdoorsman, whether it was fishing, hiking, or hunting in his early years he loved the great outdoors.
Visiting hours in the MacDonald, Rockwell & MacDonald funeral home 270 Main St. Watertown Thursday July 30, 2020 from 4-8pm. Those over 60 & those with underlying health conditions may visit between 4-5 pm, all others are invited to attend between 5-8 pm. Due to the current precautions surrounding Covid-19, please abide by the social distancing guidelines and wear a mask.
