DUFFY, Robert Leo, 83, of Weston and Hyannis, formerly of Brookline and Watertown, passed away on February 2, 2021. Beloved husband of Natalie Stanley Duffy for 62 years. Born in Watertown to the late Peter D. Duffy & Florence H. (McNally). Devoted father to Robert L. Duffy, Jr., and his wife Tara H. Duffy of Wayland; Peter D. Duffy and his Fiancée Susan Lewis of Sherborn; and William J. Duffy and his wife Nichole C. Duffy of Wayland. Grandfather to seven grandchildren Robert L. Duffy, III of Somerville; Joanna L. Duffy and Katherine Natalie Duffy both of Wayland; Haley M. Duffy and Peter D. Duffy, Jr. both of Sherborn; and Liam C. Duffy and Cole J. Duffy, both of Wayland.


 

Dear brother to the late Mary Elene Shriber and her late husband Emmet ("Bill") Shriber; the late Kathleen Shirley Burke and her late husband Edwin Burke and his late wife Mary Burke of FL; the late James Duffy and his wife Pamela Duffy of Belmont; the late Marie Barry and her late husband the Hon. John Barry of Pittsfield; the late Norman Duffy and his late wife Cynthia Duffy of Lexington; the late Harvey Duffy and his late wife Joan Duffy of Lexington; and the late Edmund Duffy & his late wife Joan Collins. He loved, and was loved by, many nieces and nephews, as well as grandnieces & nephews. 


 

After graduating from St. Patrick's High School in Watertown in 1955, he served in the US Army reserves. In 1963 he & his brothers founded Duffy Brothers Construction, now Duffy Properties in Waltham. Bob was an avid reader, loved to summer on Cape Cod, and always enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He was a devout Catholic, a proud member of St. Julia’s Church in Weston, and a generous supporter of many charities. He believed actions were more important than words and that doing the right thing was important, even when difficult.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests an act of kindness for a person in need be done in Bob's memory.

 

A Funeral Mass at St. Julia Church in Weston and interment Linwood Cemetery, Weston will be held privately.
