Rosemarie Francis

FRANCIS, ROSEMARIE - of Watertown passed away on December 1, 2023. Rosemarie was the daughter of the late Guy and Mary (White) Francis. She was pre-deceased by her only sister, Lucille (Francis) Scioli.

A lifetime resident of Watertown and a devout Catholic, Rosemarie was a member of St. Jude's Parish and St. Patrick's Sodality and a graduate of St. Patrick's High School. Following high school, she also attended and graduated from the John Robert Powers School.

Rosemarie briefly worked as an operator for the former Bell telephone company before accepting a position at The Raytheon Company, in the Purchasing department of the Power Tube Division, where she remained for 40 years until her retirement.

After retirement, Rosemarie continued to care for her mother, Mary, until her death in 2001. She frequently volunteered at the polls during elections in Watertown and enjoyed spending free time quietly praying, reading, or chatting with relatives and life-long friends by phone. Rosemarie belonged to the Cornelis dei Gracchi Order of the Sons of Italy in America, Lodge No. 1583.

Rosemarie was the most beloved aunt of Joan DeVries and her husband Robert and Blaise Scioli and his wife, Jeanne. She was also a wonderful great-aunt to Kirstin DeVries and Christopher Scioli.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday December 5 from 5-7 PM in the MacDonald, Rockwell and MacDonald Funeral Home 270 Main St., Watertown. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St Jude's Parish, 147 Main St. Waltham, Ma at 10:30 AM on Wednesday Dec. 6th. Burial will follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Rosemarie's name to The Watertown Catholic Collaborative of Sacred Heart and St Patrick, 26R Chestnut Street, Watertown, Ma 02472.
