Ruth Pratt, 99 years old, passed away on August 26th, 2023, after living a full life filled with faith, love, family, friends and for many years, golf at the Oakley Country Club.
Ruth was born on November 2nd, 1923, to John and Lillian (Goodrow) Sheehan in Watertown, MA. Ruth was married to Francis Pratt (deceased) for 62 years during which they had 5 children: Francis James Pratt (deceased), Pamela Dray, Patricia Pratt, Marica Tighe and Peter Pratt. She is survived by 14 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. Ruth, also known as Mom, Grammy, GiGi, and Great-Grammy, was the loving, proud matriarch of her family. She is deeply missed by her family, but we are full of gratitude for how much time we had with her. We will carry her always in our hearts.
Ruth was an always well-dressed and put together woman, with gorgeous silver hair, who in her later life was in consistent service to her beloved St. Luke’s Parish, enjoyed getting together with friends, staying active with water aerobics, and spending time with her family. In her younger days, she and her husband golfed, spent time at the Country Club, traveled, hosted and attended parties and gatherings with good friends and, of course, spent time with their growing family. In her almost 100 years of life, Ruth lived through a rapidly changing world, but she never lost her model beauty, grace and poise and her commitment to looking good no matter what she was doing! She was a wise, strong, loving, funny (sometimes stubborn) and fashionable woman who was and will continue to be well-loved and remembered by her family.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, September 5th, from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM in the MacDonald Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home at 270 Main St. Watertown followed by Funeral Mass at 10 AM in the Church of St. Luke, 132 Lexington St. Belmont. Friends & family are kindly invited to attend. Interment Mt. Auburn Cemetery.
