Shaun Coughlan Obituary

"You've made this day a special day, by just your being you. There's no person in the whole world like you, and I like you just the way you are." – Fred Rogers

All are welcome to gather at the MacDonald Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home at 11:00 AM on Friday July 9, 2021 for a celebration of the life of Shaun R. Coughlan.  A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 11:00 AM finishing up at Ridgelawn Cemetery in Watertown were a graveside service and interment for Shaun will take place.

Shaun was the loving son of Richard Coughlan & Jo-Anne Trudeau. He was hands down the toughest person people ever known and he faced everyday with incredible courage, strength, and fearlessness. Everyone admired that strength, his incredible self-awareness, and his ability to be at peace with circumstances outside of his control.  Even during his darkest moments Shaun shined bright. Shaun's last words were Life is Good and I love you too.

Shaun was a member of the Perkins School community from a young age.  Starting in elementary school, through theatre school, High school, and even through the Career Lunch program. Shaun received the Mobility Award while at Perkins and even got the opportunity to sing the National Anthem with the Perkins Chorus at a Celtics game. He was a proud member of the Perkins Alumni Association. After Perkins, Shaun forwarded his education at Cape Cod Community College where he received an associate’s degree. He was a dean’s list student and member of Phi Theta Kappa.

In 2017, Shaun moved to Watertown were he lived independently, something he was extremely proud of.  He made countless friends online and over his HAM radio. His online friends were part of his family. He took pride in teaching people about technology. He was very supportive and had tremendous empathy. He loved music and was a DJ for many different radio shows over the years; Cape Cod Community College Radio and online stations.

Shaun we will miss your funny quirks and antics.

Shaun was the beloved son of Richard Coughlan & his partner Bonnie Passamounte of Plymouth and Jo-Anne Trudeau & her husband Patrick Snyder of Kamiah, Idaho.
