William Lyons

William “Bill” Lyons, 85, of Watertown, MA, passed away peacefully on December 19, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised in Brighton, MA, Bill lived a life full of hard work, and love for those closest to him.

A devoted husband to his late wife, Mary (Floria) Lyons, Bill shared over three decades of marriage filled with laughter, resilience, and an unwavering bond. Together, they worked at Raytheon, where Bill dedicated over 40 years, earning the admiration of colleagues and leaving behind a legacy of professionalism and commitment.

Bill was a proud father to his two sons, Daniel (Marybeth) of Cazenovia, NY and Douglas (Paula) of Wayland, MA. He instilled in them the values of hard work and the importance of family and relationships, lessons that continue to guide them throughout their lives.

Above all, Bill cherished his role as a grandfather to his five grandchildren: Douglas, Dominique, Isabelle, Lauren, and Joseph, and recently became a great grandfather to baby Josie. His pride in his family knew no bounds, and he loved celebrating their achievements and milestones.

Bill’s happiest times were spent with family, especially on his beloved boat. Summer vacations were where he found peace and created countless cherished memories.

Bill is survived by his sons, brother, sister-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, great-granddaughter, and many extended family members and friends. Special thanks to his care team, led by Maria Williams.

A visitation will be held on Saturday March 1st, 2025, from 10 AM to 11:30 AM in the MacDonald Rockwell & MacDonald Funeral Home at 270 Main St. Watertown followed by Memorial Service at 11:30. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
